临江街道是福建省福州市仓山区东北部的一个街道，北面隔闽江与台江区相望，地处仓山老城区的核心地带，辖区面积约1.58平方千米。街道因滨临闽江得名，宋代以来便是福州南北往来的要冲。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

中洲岛历史上是福州的军事要地之一：元代在岛上建过炮城，明代驻军设防，清代于此设「闽海关南台分口」及巡防机构，民国年间还驻有水警。[2]

鸦片战争后福州辟为通商口岸，英国在泛船浦设立闽海关（洋关），洋行、教堂等机构相继开设。沿江的码头和道头众多，闽北、闽西的木材、茶叶等货物在此转口，运往各省及海外。[2]

这里先是1950年成立的临江居委会；1955年起成为街道办事处。1960年组建“临江人民公社”，1968年一度更名为“朝阳街道革命委员会”，到1978年才重新定名为临江街道办事处，此名沿用至今。[1]

1988年，本街道在全市率先达到无黑烟控制的标准，噪音治理也大体达标。[2]

福州光复那一年，「中国同盟会福建支会」的机关设在中洲中东巷3号，对外挂的是丙午俱乐部的牌子。[2]

地理环境[edit]

中洲岛划入本街道；东侧以工农路港头为界，西侧与观井路相接，南面连着中路与下藤路，北边则是解放大桥与闽江大桥一线。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

泛船浦天主教堂位于菖蒲社区前街，是福建省文物保护单位。它于同治三年（1864年）创建，民国二十二年（1933年）由一位法国设计师主持重造，外观为哥特式，钟楼高20余米。[3][5][6]

江南桥又名仓前桥，连接仓山与中洲岛。清乾隆十六年（1751年）由福清人何际逑兄弟等捐资，重修为长约108米的石桥。1971年改建时，它与北面已改称解放大桥的万寿桥连成一体。1992年11月，此桥由福州市认定为文物保护单位；1996年因桥面塌陷而重建，2004年再度修缮。[4]

陈靖姑故居在工农路72号，相传是顺天圣母陈靖姑的出生地。现存院落经2004年修缮，面积300多平方米，内有正殿与龙泉古井。每年三月的民俗文化节（名为「临水夫人陈靖姑民俗文化节」）也在这里举行。[7][8]

太平巷32号的广东馆，过去是福州广东籍商人的聚会处。孙中山曾为它题写“戮力同心”匾额，挂在戏台中央。这里如今是仓山第二中心小学。[2]

著名人物[edit]

数学家陈景润（1933～1996）的童年和少年时代在东尤街度过。女子乒乓球世界冠军郑怀颖生于尤花井，她在仓山第二中心小学初次接触乒乓球。[1][2]
