东升街道位于福州市仓山区中部，1996年7月设立，如今辖东兴、东辉、东南、东韵四个社区，区划中不列行政村。[1][3][4]

历史沿革[edit]

街道名称取旭日东升之意，寄托事业向上发展的期望。[1]

1996年设立时，三叉街街道原管的埔头、埔南、东福、东藤、东聚五个居委会改归东升管辖；次年新设东山、东兴两个居委会，1998年又成立联发居委会。[2]

2001年，东兴、东福、东聚三个居委会合并为东兴社区；东藤、东山与埔南的一部分组成东南社区；埔头、埔南、联发则合为埔头社区居委会。[2]

东南社区设立于2001年11月，东辉社区成立于2010年4月。[5][6]

地理环境[edit]

街道面积约1.3平方千米。东面与三叉街街道相接，南面与盖山镇相邻，西面与仓山镇、对湖街道接壤，北面与仓前街道交界。[1][3]
