铺前社区位于台江区洋中街道中部，东至广达路，西至八一七中路，南至安南路，北至国货路，因地处铺前顶而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1956年社区设立居委会，文革中曾改称尖峰居委会，1979年恢复原名。[2]

2001年，铺前居委会与其他居委会、村委会整合为9个社区；2006年并为6个社区，其中包括铺前；2014年8月又整合为洋中街道的4个社区居委会之一。[4]

社区是由原横街社区的一部分并入铺前社区形成的。[1][5]

社区在2021年2月上榜「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单，2025年12月又上榜「2025年福建省儿童友好社区」名单。[1]
