社区地处白马河下游，因此得名“河下”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

2013年底社区合并，原河下社区的一部分与万侯社区的一部分合并，成为现在的河下社区。[1]

社区内有汀洲会馆，系汀洲商帮集资修建。[1]
