中亭街社区位于福州市台江区后洲街道，在八一七南路东侧，南临台江路，北靠达道河。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

旧中亭街街区于1998年拆迁。1999年，台江区引入利嘉集团的外来资金，着手改造中亭街；2002年新中亭街建成，道路宽45米，两侧为八个组团的商住楼。[1][2]

2013年11月，原中亭街东区与中亭街西区两个社区居委会合并为现在的中亭街社区。[1]

2015年3月，司法部与民政部授予中亭街社区「第六批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」称号。[1]
