瀛东社区是台江区瀛洲街道下辖的社区，地处城乡交接部，地名来自瀛江与东升两个居委会的合并。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，社区的前身有光明居委会、红星村委会，以及瀛江、东升、瀛福三个居委会，2013年11月与瀛福社区整合。[1]

2001年12月19日，社区党支部设立；12月21日，首次社区成员大会召开，选出居委会和议事监督委员会。[2]

2004年5月，社区成立党总支。2006年，社区被区委授予「平安社区」称号；2007年，社区的老人读报沙龙入选「福州市十大社区文化品牌项目」；2009年，社区被评为福州市科普示范社区。[2]

地理环境[edit]

社区东至红星路与洋中后巷一带，西至六一中路，南侧以瀛东路和瀛福小区的围墙为界，北至光明港。[1]

经济[edit]

社区内有两处批发市场，其中一处为化妆品批发市场。[1]
