建海社区是台江区瀛洲街道下辖的社区，1956年成立，辖区由多个居民小区、居民里和旧屋区连成一片。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

社区名称取“像大海一样宽广”之意。[4] 社区成立于1956年。[3]

社区的荣誉记录见于博雅地名网：2003年至2005年间，社区获得省级“文明社区”和“二星级社区”称号；此外，社区先后获得「全国先进居委会」「福州市十佳社区」「科普工作先进单位」「台江区先进基层党组织」等称号，博雅地名网未注获得年份。社区还被列为福建省社区建设示范点之一。[2]

社区内有五处室内市场，其中包括亚细亚农贸市场、台江小商品批发市场、台江农贸批发市场、广宇小商品批发城和建新市场。[1]

社区设有幼儿园、图书阅览室、健身广场和室内乒乓球室，并组织文化活动。[2]
