福屿社区是洪山镇下辖的社区，名称取自历史上的福屿洋。[1]
地名由来[edit]
福屿得名于福屿洋。据博雅地名网，此地古称福屿洋，位于福州城区西门外，原先地势低洼，河流纵横，南湖、八江湖与闽江水系相连；闽江北侧有怡山、福山、过洋山三个小山岛。[1]
沿革[edit]
社区原由三个居委会组成，分别是福屿居委会、福屿东居委会和凤池居委会。2001年社区整合，三个居委会合并，更名为福屿社区。[1]
荣誉[edit]
博雅地名网记载，社区曾被福建省授予「2003-2005年度文明社区」称号，并获「福建省科普示范社区」称号。[2]
