南街街道是福建省福州市鼓楼区中西部的街道。东以八一七北路为界，西抵西二环路，南临吉庇路与道山路，北靠杨桥路。辖区内有历史街区三坊七巷，是福州老城的一部分。[1][2][7]

历史沿革[edit]

街道成立于1955年。1968年曾改称前卫街道，1978年恢复原名；百度百科则记作1979年恢复南街街道，两说相差一年，此处并录。[2][5][6]

街道名称来自辖内的主干道南街，即今八一七北路。[2]

地理环境[edit]

街道面积，据街道官网为1.54平方千米；博雅地名网与维基百科作1.56平方千米，以官网数字为准。[1][2][7]

据街道官网，辖区共有14682户居民，登记在册的户籍人口为44040人。维基百科所载为2020年户籍人口48007人。[1][7]

名胜古迹[edit]

三坊七巷的格局以南后街为脊线：南后街西侧是衣锦坊、文儒坊与光禄坊，东侧则有郎官巷、吉庇巷、安民巷、塔巷、杨桥巷、黄巷和宫巷。吉庇巷、杨桥巷和光禄坊后来改建为马路，现存的以二坊五巷为主。街区列入「全国重点文物保护单位」「第一批中国历史文化名街」，并为「国家5A级旅游景区」。[3][4][8][9]

新四军驻福州办事处旧址位于安民巷53号，为清代民居。1938年2月，办事处在此建立，王助出任主任；1939年5月，日军侵扰闽江口一带，办事处转移至南平。该旧址为福建省文物保护单位。[4][7][10]

林觉民故居位于杨桥东路17号。林觉民就义后，其父带家人避居福州远郊，此居随后由谢家购得，冰心在民国建立前后曾住于此，林徽因作为林觉民的侄女也住过这里。现辟为福州辛亥革命纪念馆。[11]

严复故居位于郎官巷20号，占地609平方米。[12]

沈葆桢故居位于宫巷26号。明代天启年间已有此宅，清同治时期沈葆桢购下修缮，他曾在此居住。该建筑群1996年定为福建省级文物，2006年改列全国重点文物保护单位。2023年4月，修缮方案获国家文物局批准。[13]

林则徐祠堂，现为福州市林则徐纪念馆，位于澳门路16号，1983年1月1日投用，为国家二级博物馆。[3][14]
