历史沿革[edit]
社区名称来自辖内的达明路。据《榕城考古略》所记，龙须河沿岸旧时有手工弹棉作坊，俗称「弹棉河沿」，后以福州话「弹棉」谐音改称「达明」。[1][2]
社区名称曾于1969年改为「群武居委会」，1978年才恢复如今的名称。2013年，新民社区以东的部分并入达明社区。[1]
