群围村位于萧山东部的围垦地区，东面与绍兴滨海开发区相接，信益公路穿过全村，是益农镇的行政村。[1]

地名[edit]

村名「群围」是「人民群众围起来」的简称。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

村址原为钱塘江的滩涂。1966年，原长沙、党山、夹灶三个乡在此开始围海造田，群围村便是这一老围垦区的三个移民村之一。参与者以肩挑手扛的方式，用6天时间围起了防潮大堤。[1][2]

村民全部来自原夹灶乡的移民。经过几十年改造，滩涂变成了村庄与良田。[2]
