名称由来[edit]
相传最早有王氏兄弟从山西太原迁来，在村中一条河边定居，以农耕为业。兄弟分家后，居于河南的一支繁衍成族，被称为南庄王[1]。
地理环境[edit]
东面紧挨新林周村；南边是螺山村；西侧隔一条小河，对面为新塘街道的娄下陈村；北侧越过萧绍运河，是新街街道的元沙村[3]。萧明线、杭甬铁路和萧绍运河由西向东贯穿全境[3]。
行政区划[edit]
村由南庄王、拾房、小祥、前王、庙前周、叶家埭六个自然村组成。其中南庄王面积最大、人口最多，因此以它为村名[3]。村里共有1592人，党员82名，划为10个村民小组[3]。
历史沿革[edit]
北宋太平兴国三年（978年），此地属履仁乡杨汛里，杨汛庙即在境内。元至元十六年（1279年）属二十二都七图，为南庄王[2]。
1921年衙前农民运动时，村中设有农协小组[2]。解放后的1949年5月起，村归坎山区杨汛乡，一段时间里名为团结村[2]。
合作化时期，村内设立了六个农业社，1956年11月并为团结农业社。1961年，村划归蜀山区螺山公社，成为南庄王大队。1984年改称螺山乡下的南庄王村，1992年5月以后隶属衙前镇[2]。
荣誉[edit]
2021年12月，村被命名为「2021年浙江省卫生村」。2021年5月，村被命名为萧山区2020年度「平安村（社区）」[1]。
