地名由来[edit]
村民以李姓为主，相传是唐朝汝阳郡王李琎的后裔。南宋庆元年间，宋宁宗为《天乐李氏家乘》题写「玉叶传芳」，村因此取名传芳。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
北宋年间村域隶属天乐乡的斯里；到南宋改称天乐传芳村；元代至正年间归山阴县四十都三图管辖。[3]
民国年间归属变动较多，依次为绍兴县第十区、七都四图和所前西乡；1949年5月以后划入绍兴县岭下乡，1950年10月转入萧山县，行政上仍隶岭下乡。[3]
农业合作化期间，本村组建过若干农业社，后合为民丰社。人民公社化时，本村归临浦公社岱山管理区，称民丰生产队；1961年起隶所前公社，设民丰大队。「文化大革命」中改称传芳大队，1984年改设村民委员会。[3]
地理环境[edit]
截至2006年底，村域面积为1.673平方千米，山林1472亩、耕地857.8亩，耕作条件是人多地少。[1]

全村设9个村民小组；2006年底统计，共479户，1630人。[1]
