建村[edit]
2005年5月，原建新村与横筑塘村两个行政村并为一村，成为新的湘东村[1][3]。
历史沿革[edit]
村域宋代属安养乡，元代归五都，清末先后属义桥乡与湘东乡，民国时隶山后乡和崇化乡。1950年为山后乡的戚家山下村与崇化乡的横筑塘村；1956年分属义桥乡和石岩乡。人民公社时期，建新大队归义桥公社，利民大队先属石岩公社，1969年3月转归义桥公社；1984年后成为义桥镇的建新村和横筑塘村[1][3]。
名胜[edit]
杭州东方文化园就坐落在村内[1]。据百度百科，该园被列为中国十佳主题公园之一[4]。
荣誉[edit]
村曾获杭州市卫生村、信用村、先进党组织和杭州市萧山区生态村等称号[2]。
