历史沿革[edit]
2005年5月村规模调整时，畈里杨、东葛、郭家埭三村合并为临北村，隶属临浦镇人民政府。[1][2]
随着临浦集镇向北扩展，临北村从毗邻集镇变为位于城区之中的村庄。东藩路北段贯通后，村内增设了西施文化公园，东藩小学、东藩幼儿园和临浦派出所也建在村前，村子成为临浦的城中村。[2]
地理环境[edit]
村域东面以临浦工业园区与塘郎孙村为界，南面接临浦集镇，西面与03省道柏山陈社区相连，北面临杭甬运河。[2]
人口民族[edit]
据2022年发布的村概况，全村有367户农户，总人口1410人，设10个村民小组，村民代表55人。村中以杨、沈、施、李、范、郭六姓为主。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
西施古迹群的遗存分布于通二村、临北村和苎萝村一带，共14处，2009年列为杭州市第四批市级文物保护单位。[3]
