村子座落在两山之间，村南原为大溪，称大洋；因地势平缓，又称平洋，后改称平阳。[1]

2005年5月村规模调整，平阳、肖汉、次邬三个自然村合并为平阳村。[1]

2021年5月，平阳村获评「萧山区2020年度平安村（社区）」。[1]
