墅上王村位于进化镇北部，是一个平原村，进化镇工业园区设在村内，村子毗邻03省道。[1]

村名的来历是：此地原为荒原，杜氏先在这里搭草屋定居，后因王氏发族而称墅上王，“墅”指田野中的草房。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村内杜姓定居最早；元末，王姓自诸暨银洽墙头（今属泌湖乡）迁入；金姓则是从江苏彭城迁来。[1]

此地在1949年至1952年隶临东乡，1953年至1955年改隶盈湖乡，1956年至1957年又隶临江乡。1984年4月，城山乡设墅上王村民委员会，1992年5月划入进化镇。[1]

经济[edit]

2020年9月，村子列入阿里研究院公布的淘宝村名单；2020年11月，村子获认定为浙江省电子商务示范村（2021年度）；2021年10月，又入选南京大学空间规划研究中心与阿里研究院联合发布的淘宝村名单；2022年10月，再次列入淘宝村名单。[1]

文化[edit]

2021年5月，墅上王村获评「萧山区2020年度平安村（社区）」；2023年3月，被认定为2022年度「浙江省善治村」；2023年7月，被命名为浙江省「红色根脉」强基（基层党建）示范村（社区）。[1]
