吉山村在进化镇南部，南侧与东山村相接，西侧与太平桥村相邻，北侧与华家垫村接界。[1]

村名的来由是村口左右两山：左为猫头山，右为狗头山，两种动物都被视为吉祥之物，守护村口，村名因此称吉山；此前原称髻山。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村民以徐姓为主，始迁祖徐礼于明朝时自绍兴笔飞坊迁来。相传村落形成距今已有800余年，20世纪30年代属绍兴七都二十二图。[1]

解放后此地先隶绍兴县富岭乡，1950年10月改属萧山县。合作化时期，村中组建了吉山高级农村生产合作社；公社时期为进化公社富岭管理区的吉山大队。1984年4月成立吉山村民委员会，1992年起归进化镇管辖。[1]

文化[edit]

2021年12月，吉山村被命名为「2021年浙江省卫生村」；2021年5月，获评「萧山区2020年度平安村（社区）」。[1]
