进化镇位于浙江省杭州市萧山区东南部的半山区，东面与绍兴相接，南面与诸暨相邻，西隔浦阳江与浦阳镇相望，北边连着临浦镇。镇政府距杭州市区约17公里。[1][2]

“进化”之名出自1946年绍兴县调整乡镇时的一次合并：协进乡与青化乡合为一处，各取末字组成新乡名，此后镇名沿袭乡名。[1]

镇内山林广布，还有矿泉水与陶土资源，三面环山、一面临江，浦阳江流经西侧。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

这一带在北宋太平兴国三年（978年）归山阴县天乐乡管辖。新中国成立之初，此地改设绍兴县进化区，其间辖有青化、临江等乡，1950年10月划归萧山县。[3]

1956年末，此地设有进化、城山、欢潭等乡，另有临江与新建两乡；1961年改为公社，划属临浦区。1984年5月公社改为乡，1992年5月进化乡与城山乡合并设进化镇，2001年7月欢潭乡并入进化镇。[3][5]

地理环境[edit]

03省道东复线纵贯全镇，杭金衢高速公路、浙赣铁路近在咫尺，杭州萧山国际机场也在附近，交通条件较好。[2]

文化[edit]

全国爱卫会于2020年7月授予镇域「2017-2019周期国家卫生乡镇（县城）」称号；2022年3月，镇域获选「2022年浙江省美丽城镇建设样板创建名单」，类型为文旅特色型。[1]

2020年、2021年、2022年，阿里研究院先后公布的「淘宝镇」名单中均有进化镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

茅湾里窑址在大汤坞一带的裘家山，遗址范围含狮子山与蜈蚣腿，1956年经调查发现，主要烧制印纹硬陶与原始青瓷。[4]

1981年，浙江省将其列为省级文保单位；此后经国务院批准，又列入第六批全国重点文物保护单位名单。[6]

著名人物[edit]

葛云飞，1789年生，字鹏起，出生于山阴天乐乡山头埠村（今属萧山）。1841年10月，他率部在定海抗击英军，全体殉国，本人身受数十处创伤而死。[1][4]
