马谷村位于戴村镇西南方向约5公里处，地处云门寺山的东北麓，村名的来历与山谷中养马的传说有关。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，元朝末年各地义军并起，有人曾在这个山谷里饲养马匹以备战用，山谷因此得名马谷。[1]

文化遗存[edit]

村内的云门寺为晚清建筑，现存，列为杭州市文保点，周边保留有传统民居。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

元代此处属八都；民国时期属二都；1949年5月以后归凌溪乡，1952年组织起了互助组。[1]之后又建起高级社，公社时期归戴村公社的凌溪管理区，成为一个生产大队。[1]1984年设乡村建制，名为马谷村；1985年改称戴村镇马谷村。[1]
