同兴村位于新街街道西侧，距萧山机场约8公里，距萧山主城区约5公里；村北侧为建设四路，南侧是北塘河，104国道就在旁边。[1][2]

村名的由来：村原由群力、群联两个高级农业社合并而成，取共同兴旺之意，公社化时期称同兴大队。[2]
