村名的由来：村址原属盛围乡，为新建农业生产合作社所在，故称新盛。[2]

村的前身为盛围乡新建农业生产合作社，村名由此而来。[2]

据2022年发布的村概况，村内有19个村民小组，农户1118户；常住4121人，外来流动人口已近1.4万人。[1]

村内有五金机械、塑料制品、化纤、家具四大产业，大小企业60余家，其中规上企业4家。[1]

文化[edit]

区政府曾授予村现代化建设标兵、文明村与民主法制村的称号。[1]

2021年10月和2022年10月，新盛村先后入选阿里研究院公布的2021年淘宝村与2022年淘宝村名单。[2]
