新街街道是浙江省杭州市萧山区下辖的街道，位于萧山东入城口，南侧毗邻浙江（中国）花木城，享有“中国花木之乡”和“中国钢构名镇”的美誉。[1]

2014年8月撤销新街镇建制，设立新街街道，区域面积35.6平方千米，撤镇设街时辖15个村、5个社区。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

新街旧称山末址，地处长山东麓。1946年头蓬等地坍江后，商户迁来此处发展，1951年设立供销社，街市由此形成，遂改称新街。[5]

1961年设新街公社，1984年改为新街乡，1985年改为建制镇。1992年长山镇（墩里吴、柳桥、塘湾三村除外）并入新街镇，2007年红垦农场区域并入。[4]

地理环境[edit]

街道西接宁围街道与新世纪市场园区，北与萧山经济技术开发区桥南区块相邻。境内有杭金衢高速、沪杭甬高速与绕城东线的互通出入口，104国道、03省道东复线及机场高速穿境而过。[1]

人口民族[edit]

据2021年发布的街道简介，全街道户籍人口6.4万人，外来人口约8万人。[1]

经济[edit]

花木种植是街道的传统产业。据博雅地名网，上世纪60年代初有本地农民到杭州、上海等地做花工，学会修枝育苗，并把梧桐与水杉枝条带回扦插培育，花木产业由此起步。[3]

进入90年代，花木产业重新兴起，至1998年全镇花卉苗木种植面积达一万八千余亩，花木销往全国二十六个省市区。[3]

2020年、2021年和2022年，阿里研究院公布的淘宝镇名单都有新街街道。[5]

文化[edit]

街道已成功创建为国家级生态镇（街）和浙江省文明街道。[1]

2020年7月，街道经全国爱卫会命名，列为2017至2019周期的国家卫生乡镇（县城）。2024年1月，街道被认定为市级示范镇，属杭州市现代化美丽城镇建设中2023年度的一个示范镇；同月又进入省级美丽城镇示范镇建设的名单，名单年份同为2023年。[2][5]
