地理环境[edit]
据2022年发布的概况页，社区北以新安夹沟为界，南抵建设二路，东以新宁路和宁税路为界，西以利群河和宁东路为界，面积1.6平方千米。[1]
人口民族[edit]

历史沿革[edit]
地名取自社区位于宁围东部之意。这片土地由钱塘江泥沙淤积而成，约六十年前，绍兴等地的移民来此开荒，逐渐形成村落。建国初隶属宁围乡，人民公社化初归城北公社宁围管理区，之后划入宁围公社，设宁东大队。[2]
1984年成立宁东村民委员会，归宁围乡；1992年列入宁围镇。2005年5月撤销宁东村，建立宁东社区；2014年起归宁围街道。[2]
文化[edit]
2022年1月，社区入选「浙江省2021年度省级“民主法治村（社区）”」名单。2021年5月，被命名为「萧山区2020年度“平安村（社区）”」。[2]
