宁围街道隶属杭州市萧山区，处在区域北部，北面濒临钱塘江，东接新街街道，南靠北干街道，西连盈丰街道。辖区面积62.58平方千米。[1]

宁围之名沿用原西兴盐场的灶地名，本是钱塘江边的围垦之地，取其安宁之意。这里的沙地在清末划归塘内诸乡，到1992年5月，宁围与盈丰两个乡并为一个镇，2014年8月镇又改设街道。[2][5]

历史沿革[edit]

1909年（清宣统元年）办理地方自治时，宁围一带的沙地划归塘内的城北乡管辖，次年宁围与盈丰同属城北乡。1928年萧山设区，宁围、盈丰属第二区，1932年改属第一区。[2]

1950年10月，宁围乡与盈丰乡先后设立，隶属城北区。1958年撤区建人民公社，宁围、盈丰同属城北公社；1961年分设宁围公社、盈丰公社。1969年盈丰公社并入宁围，1971年又划出独立。[2]

1980年，宁围公社在顺坝北面进行江涂围垦，建立顺坝大队。1984年宁围、盈丰两乡分别设立，1992年5月两乡并为宁围镇。2007年7月，钱江农场区域并入宁围镇。[2]

2014年8月，宁围镇改设宁围街道办事处。2020年6月，杭州市人民政府批复撤销宁围街道办事处，新设宁围街道办事处和盈丰街道办事处，名称和辖区沿用至今。[3][4]

地理环境[edit]

街道北依钱塘江，东邻新街，南接北干，西连盈丰。前往萧山国际机场、杭州东站和杭州南站，都在二十分钟车程之内。[1]

人口民族[edit]

2021年的街道概况页记录，户籍居民约3.6万，实际居住的常住居民达13.3万。[1][4]

文化[edit]

2005年，宁围获得「浙江第一镇」称号，同年10月列入第一届「全国文明村镇」名单。2007年1月，宁围入选环境保护部授牌的「第六批全国环境优美乡镇」。[1][5]

2020年7月，宁围被再次确认为「国家卫生乡镇（县城）」，确认机关为全国爱国卫生运动委员会。2020年、2021年和2022年，宁围三次列入「淘宝镇」名单。[5]
