义南村在靖江街道办事处北面约一公里处，靠近青蓬公路与伟老公路，北边与义蓬街道接壤。[1]

名称由来[edit]

村因位于义盛以南而得名。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年5月后，此地为甘露乡第十一村。1952年，甘露乡改属义蓬区；1956年3月甘露、太平两乡合并成联庄乡，此地设伟民农业社。[2]

1958年改设伟民管理区，同年9月划入宇宙红公社，次年改属义蓬公社。1961年归甘露公社，设伟民大队；1969年称伟民大队，转属靖江公社，1971年又回属甘露公社。[2]

1981年设义南大队，仍属甘露公社；1984年定名义南村，隶属甘露乡。1992年村属靖江镇，2009年9月起属靖江街道。[2]

概况[edit]

耕地共1278.7亩，其中内地851.7亩。村民小组共20个，登记在册的户籍人口2375人，另有流动人口1700余人，党员90人。[1]
