新塘街道是浙江省杭州市萧山区辖下的街道，位于萧山中心城区，距杭州萧山国际机场约14公里。街道东面与衙前镇相接，南边隔着西小江，与绍兴杨汛桥相对，北以长山为界与新街街道相连。2001年7月，城厢镇的城东、裘江两个办事处与新塘乡合并，设立新塘街道。[1][3][4]

街道境内有104国道与03省道，东复线和杭金衢高速公路穿行其间，萧甬、浙赣两条铁路也经过此地。辖区内的朱家坛村保存着清代进士朱凤标的故居。[1][4][5]

名称[edit]

1950年2月设乡，乡政府驻在塘里陈村。新中国成立不久，乡名加了“新”字，即新塘乡。另一种说法见《萧山县地名志》（1984年版）：宋代时塘里陈村东侧一块洼地被圈起围堤，称为“新塘”，后来乡与街道都用此名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

北宋太平兴国三年（978年），今新塘的东部归里仁乡，西部归由化乡。到元代至元十六年（1279年），由化乡分为一都与二都，里仁乡则成了二十二都。[2]

1951年，此地分设新塘、霞江、劳富、新朱、通惠、裘江、东蜀等乡。1956年，新塘乡与霞江乡合为新塘乡，劳富与新朱合为城东乡，通惠、裘江、东蜀合为东蜀乡。[2]

1992年5月，新塘、裘江、城东三乡划入城厢镇，分设城厢镇新塘、裘江、城东三个办事处。1998年8月，新塘办事处划出城厢镇，复设新塘乡。[2]

2001年7月，城东、裘江两个办事处与新塘乡并为一体，组建新塘街道。2002年3月，高桥、新桥头、车家埭、梅花楼、徐家河这五个居民区改属城厢街道；商城西村与通达里两个居民区则改属新塘街道。此后沿用至今。[2]

地理环境[edit]

新塘街道地处萧绍平原水网地带，位于杭州市钱塘江南岸。[3]

文化[edit]

朱家坛村的朱凤标故居，清代进士朱凤标的旧居，号称萧山的“大宅门”。据百度百科，故居为浙江省第八批省级文物保护单位；据2010年萧山区政府网刊载的报道，其时故居为杭州市级文物保护单位和区重点文物管理单位。[5][6]

姚江岸社区内有知章公园，南江公园在文源社区一带。[7][8]
