车家埭社区在城厢街道东侧，与新塘街道接壤。社区1997年由原车家埭行政村转制而来[1]。
地名由来[edit]
据《萧山地名志》记载，村前原有一条堤塘，内侧以车氏聚居，因此名为车家埭[2]。民国《萧山县志稿》的村落一节也载有车家埭村名[2]。
概况[edit]
社区的范围包括蔡家庄、车家埭和农贸市场三片区块。社区内生活服务较为齐全，附近有农贸市场、购物超市，还有医院、学校等公益服务机构，以及健身点和公园绿地[1]。
