社区在钱塘江南岸，四界为西兴路（东）、北塘河（南）、建设河（西）、江南大道（北），是由农村转型而来的社区。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清末明初，这里仍是钱塘江滩涂，村民从萧山东部等地因坍江而来此开荒。1949年5月之前，此处归夏乡第10保。[3]
互助合作运动在1951年兴起。1954年建成高级农业合作社，次年改为共联高级社。1958年此地成为共联大队；1984年改设共联村委会。[3]
村名取20世纪50年代初「共同联合」搞好农业生产之意。[3]据博雅地名网历史沿革，社区于2013年11月由村改居；其概况部分则写作2014年。[3][2]

社区内有四个小区，即迎春小区及其东、北、南三苑。人口共4142人，其中外来流动人口在3500人以上。[2]
党组织设10个居民小组党支部与3个联合支部，党员共165人。[2]
