社区因临近余杭塘河而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

东沙斗与杨家塘两地民国时属双桥乡，1951年6月划归西行乡。东沙斗在1958年成为三墩公社东沙斗大队，1966年改称西行公社建新大队，1982年2月复名东沙斗大队，1984年起设东沙斗行政村。杨家塘则于1958年归并为三墩公社红建大队，1981年10月定名为西行公社杨家塘大队，1984年1月才有杨家塘行政村之名。2002年春两村合为塘河行政村，2010年改设塘河社区。[1]
