地名由来[edit]
此地原为鱼米之乡，盛产虾，社区因而得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
前身为虾龙圩行政村，建国初归西行乡。1954年成立虾龙圩农业社；1958年改组为三墩人民公社虾龙圩大队，由章桥头、唐家坝、娄家汇等农业社组成；1964年改为光明大队，1981年7月恢复虾龙圩大队之名。1983年7月设虾龙圩行政村，其下包括章桥头等8个自然村。2002年改村为社区。[1]
