庙前街社区位于杭州市西湖区三墩镇，是三墩镇的旧城区，东侧与五里塘社区相接，南侧为振华路，西侧接大港桥社区，北侧是三墩街。[1]
地名由来[edit]
社区名来自辖区内的庙前街，这条街先叫“臭水弄”，因弄里水作坊排放泔水而得名，后来改称“秋水弄”。因北端靠近香火兴旺的三墩庙，人们常叫它“庙弄”，直到20世纪50年代后期才叫“庙前街”。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1951年，这一带分设庙前街、庙西街、白字桥、范家湾四个居民区，2002年并为庙前街社区。[1]
