茅家埠村是西湖街道下辖的行政村，座落在西湖风景名胜区内，位于湖西核心区域，东临西湖，背靠月桂峰和吉庆山，属杨公堤中段。[1][5]

历史沿革[edit]

据百度百科，村名源于明清时期香客乘船到此上岸，因岸边长着茅草而得名。据博雅地名网，宋时称茆家埠，后又名毛家埠；相传明朝平辽总兵毛文龙葬于此，古时茆、茅二字相通，故名。[4][5]

建国初属茅家埠乡；1956年成为西湖农业社，1958年改称西湖公社茅家埠大队，1984年再改为茅家埠行政村。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

宋时起，这里是香客登岸处，沿上香古道可前往天竺、灵隐等寺。2003年，西湖综合保护工程恢复了茅家埠水面和上香古道。[5]

醉白楼、都锦生故居等景点在村内，已经成为湖西的游览胜地。[2]

经济[edit]

村子传统上生产西湖龙井茶，一级保护龙井茶基地的面积为232.5亩（未注年份）。[1]
