古墩社区隶属古荡街道，在街道西南部：东边以西溪路为界，南边靠老和山背与将军山，西边到紫荆港河，北边抵沁雅、丹桂花园一带[1]。社区名称来自纵贯南北的古墩路[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

建国初，此地属杭县屣泰乡[1]。1984年改为古荡镇行政村[3]。

2002年6月，古荡镇村的村建制撤销，改为居民区；2005年1月，社区自古荡镇村股份经济合作社中分出，正式设立[3]。

2019年1月，古墩社区列入「浙江省2018年度“省级民主法治村（社区）”」名单[1]。2022年1月，社区被命名为「2021年浙江省综合减灾示范社区」[1]。
