古荡南区社区是古荡街道下辖的社区，处在古荡小区南侧：北边以小区中心花园的主干道为界，南边靠老和山山脊，西边抵达杭州市第七人民医院，东边从天目山路绿色广场与益乐路一带算起[1]。政府网站上称为古南社区[4]。以益乐路为分界，古荡新村一分为东、西两区，本社区在西区南部，故名[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

西溪路一带的居民原先归古老居委会管辖。古荡新村的住宅区于1984年建成；1985年，中河、东河改造拆迁居民迁入古荡小区，先后组建古二、古三、古十一居委会[3]。

1999年，古二、古三两个居委会合成一个。2001年4月，古三、古老、古十一三居委会并入一处，成立的是隶属古荡镇的古荡南区社区居委会[3]。2002年，镇级建制取消，改设街道办事处，社区也改为现名[3]。

2013年1月，社区被命名为「杭州市第七批绿色社区」[1]。
