古荡东区社区是古荡街道下辖的社区，位于古荡小区以东，北面到文三西路，西面到益乐路，南面到天目山路，东面临冯家河[1]。社区名来自驻地，即古荡新村东54幢[2]。政府网站上称为古东社区[4]。

历史沿革[edit]

此处先前是古荡行政村的农田与水塘，之后才建起住宅区[3]。1985年，中河、东河改造中的拆迁户获安置于此，次年7月起先后设立古荡第一、第六、第七、第八、第九居民区[3]。2003年3月，这5个居民区撤并，组建古荡东社区[3]。

2020年12月，社区被命名为「浙江省2020年度“省级民主法治村（社区）”」[1]。
