古荡湾社区位于浙江省杭州市西湖区翠苑街道，由古荡湾村与古荡湾居民区合并组成，成立于2001年3月。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

建国初，此地属古荡乡。1956年，此处成立古荡湾农业社；1958年改设古荡湾大队，1960年划归西湖公社，1963年又回到古荡公社。[1]

1984年改称古荡行政村。博雅地名网称，因水荡密布、状似“古”字而得名。下辖3个自然村。[1]

1986年设古荡湾居民区。1996年，古荡湾村撤村建居；2001年3月，它与古荡湾居民区合并，组成古荡湾社区。[1]

地理环境[edit]

社区北侧为文二路，南侧是文三路，西侧连古翠路，东侧靠学院路，总面积0.67平方千米。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

社区还获得过杭州市文明社区、西湖区和谐社区等称号。2010年，社区被列为「西湖区基层党建工作示范点」。[2]
