翠苑街道是浙江省杭州市西湖区东北部的一个街道。东侧以教工路为界，南侧接天目山路，西侧以冯家河为界，北面与余杭塘河接壤。辖区内院校与医疗、文化单位较多。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年时，此地属古荡乡。1986年1月，街道从古荡乡分出，设为翠苑街道。[1] 博雅地名网称，街道旁柳树翠绿、树木成荫，因此得名。[2][3]

2001年3月，这一带的居民区与村庄经合并或撤村建居，组建为社区，多数社区都成立于这个月。[6][7]

2020年9月，翠苑三区社区中的一片区域划出，另设宋江苑社区。[2][5]

2023年7月，街道被命名为「浙江省“红色根脉”强基（基层党建）示范乡镇（街道）」。[2] 街道还先后被评为「浙江省民政工作先进街道」，并获得省级社会治安综合治理先进单位的称号。[2][3] 据2022年工作总结，街道又荣获「浙江省五星食品安全街道」。[4]

地理环境[edit]

街道东与西溪街道相邻，南接灵隐街道，西侧接古荡街道，北面隔余杭塘河与拱墅区的和睦、小河两个街道相望。[1]

境内主要道路有6条，十余路公交线路穿行其中。[2]

截至2011年末，全街道总人口86267人。[1] 博雅地名网另载，2000年末辖区约有2.3万余户住户，共7.9万余人口。[2]

文化[edit]

街道内院校共30所，有杭州师范学校、翠苑中学和浙江工商大学，另有育才教育集团、翠苑第一、第二小学，以及浙江广播电视大学和翠苑幼儿教育集团。[2]

辖区内设有同济医院与同德医院，文化单位有浙江小百花越剧团，另有浙江自然博物馆、数码城和翠苑电影大世界等。[2]
