历史沿革[edit]
东新园小区2001年10月动工，系杭州市与下城区两级政府的为民办实事项目；据博雅地名网，它是杭州市规模最大的经济适用房住宅小区之一。[1]
社区党总支于2004年5月设立，2005年3月改为党委。[2]居委会的筹建组设于2003年底，2004年底选出首届居委会。[2]
地理环境[edit]
社区东界东新东路，西界颜家港河；南面紧靠香积寺东路，北面与规划中的重工路相接。[2]
小区内有六大组团，依次为新湖苑、东荷星苑、雪峰苑、茗盛苑、望景苑、孚信苑。[2]
