历史沿革[edit]
1949年设西文村；1953年时为西文互助组；1967年成为生产大队；1984年又设西文村。[1]2003年10月撤村建社区。[1]
地理环境[edit]
社区西侧为上塘河，北侧与石祥路相接，东侧以东新河为界，南侧与中舟、灯塔两社区相邻。[2]
据博雅地名网，截至2013年8月，旧村已大体拆迁完毕；西文东苑、西文西苑两处安置房已可入住，西文南苑、西文北苑还在建。[2]
