社区名称沿袭自原和平居民委员会，含吉祥之意。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区原为打铁关村。1999年6月改设和平居民区，2001年3月改设社区，名称一直沿用。[1]

居民与范围[edit]

社区东侧与铁路艮山门站相邻；西面以上塘河相隔，与朝晖街道对望；南界为文晖路；北部与胜利、现代城两社区，以及东新街道接壤。社区共2574户居民，常住人口6500余人。[1]
