朝晖街道位于浙江省杭州市拱墅区东南部，南面临京杭大运河[5]。街道1983年1月组建，当时隶属下城区；2021年3月杭州行政区划调整后，原下城区与拱墅区合并为新的拱墅区，朝晖街道随之划入[3][4]。辖区内有西湖文化广场，广场占地约13.3公顷[4][6]。

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地隶属仁和县，民国时期归杭州第八区管辖。1949年5月此地改称潮王乡，归拱墅区管辖；其后历经上塘区、东新乡、笕桥区、江干区等隶属变动，1972年随西湖区恢复建制而归西湖区[3]。

1982年12月，省府批复把西湖区上塘公社的三个生产队（河西、朝阳、黎明）改归下城区；次年1月，朝晖街道设立，隶属下城区[3]。

街道名称出自康熙年间仁和县贡生王修玉的一句诗「鹭鸶滩上棹扁舟，薄雾朝晖暗戍楼」[4]。

1978年，朝晖居住区开始建设，最早的住宅楼建于1981至1982年，当时统称朝晖新村[4]。

1996年3月，朝晖街道在民政部门组织的评选中获「全国最佳街道」称号[4]。

2001年，中河高架向北延伸，修到朝晖一带时，两棵有几百年历史的古樟树挡住了路线，杭州将它们迁往70米外的文晖路口[4]。

2021年3月，杭州行政区划调整撤销下城区、拱墅区，合并设立新的拱墅区；同年5月18日，新拱墅区的18个街道揭牌，朝晖街道是其中之一[3][4]。

地理环境[edit]

街道面积3.03平方千米[2][5]。东面以上塘河与文晖街道为界，南面京杭运河对岸是长庆、天水两街道，西面和北面与米市巷、大关两街道接壤[1]。

人口民族[edit]

2011年末，街道总人口为74942人[1]。2021年，街道政府网站称常住人口约8.3万人[5]。

名胜古迹[edit]

西湖文化广场在拱墅区武林广场的运河北岸一侧[6]。2001年9月，西湖文化广场工程奠基，广场占地13.3公顷，总建筑面积35万平方米，建筑总高173米[4]。
