地处街道东南侧的刀茅巷社区，隶属杭州市拱墅区。东面挨着贴沙河，西面靠刀茅巷，南北分别以庆春路、体育场路为界，面积0.28平方千米，常住人口7045人[1][3]。

地名由来[edit]

此地南宋时为游奕寨的营地，早先称南营巷、麻柴巷。明代起称刀茅巷，缘于路窄，两旁长满茅草。清代以庆春路为界，分为上刀茅巷与下刀茅巷[5]。百度百科另说，明代时叫新开路、麻柴巷，后来讹传成刀茅巷[3]。

历史沿革[edit]

社区成立于2001年3月，前身是刀茅巷、建东、泰和苑、建德村四个居民区[1]。2005年4月，艮山街道下辖东园社区的刀茅巷以东部分划入本社区；2011年，泰和苑与建德村两个居民区并入，名称未改[4]。

社区设施[edit]

辖内的机构有社区服务中心、艮山中学、红会医院，以及凤栖幼儿园[1]。社区服务中心办公面积200平方米[2]。
