街道西南端的知足弄社区，外形像一只竖起的熨斗，占地约0.16平方千米，属杭州市拱墅区。居住的有3005户，约8900人[1][3]。该社区南界以庆春路为线，与上城区相隔；北端抵凤起路。

历史沿革[edit]

社区于2001年3月由原有居民区合并组建，沿用原名，定名为知足弄社区[1][4]。

地名由来[edit]

社区名称寓意居住在此的居民知足常乐[5]。

区域与设施[edit]

东面的邻居是小天竺社区，中间隔着回龙庙前与醋坊巷；西侧则紧挨东河社区，沿建国北路南段相接[1]。

社区里设有兴业银行与杭州银行的总行，另有金龙集团公司，以及市人民职业学校[2]。出行方便，大学路北口与潮鸣寺巷两处都有公交站[1]。

居委会办公用房500平方米，内设综合活动室、人大代表接待室，并有社区法制学校与社区市民学校，一站式便民服务大厅也设在其中[2]。
