仙林社区在杭州市中心，东边挨着中河北路，西边到中山北路，南端是庆春路，北面接凤起路，占地0.18平方千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

2001年3月，社区居委会由焦营、中庆、王衙、军督、仙林五个居委会组建而成。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

社区名称取自古老的仙林桥。仙林桥为南宋已有的单孔石拱桥，因桥西的仙林寺而得名。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

1162年（南宋绍兴三十二年）是仙林寺的始建之年，寺宇此后多次毁坏又多次修复，清同治初年再度重建；民国二十年（1931年）此地改为仙林桥小学。[1][2]

仙林桥历代多次修建，最近一次修建在1986年。[1][2]
