地名由来[edit]
社区因辖区内的沈家桥而得名。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立初期，沈家桥是杭县独城乡下的一个行政村。1956年，沈家桥、巧山、毛竹山组成三个农业社，隶属杭县康桥乡；同年公社化后，改归四维公社康桥管理区，设沈家桥生产队。1962年改为康桥公社沈家桥大队。[3]
1980年5月划归新设的半山区，1984年4月归半山镇，1985年1月改称沈家桥行政村。[3]
2008年6月，区政府批复同意撤销沈家桥行政村，设立沈家桥社区。[3]
地理与人口[edit]
社区位于街道中部，南边和东边邻杭州钢铁集团，西边是康桥街道，北边连着石塘社区。辖区面积1.48平方千米，划分为四个居民小组。[1]
户籍人口1174人，另有外来人口5106人，年份未注。社区党总支下设七个党支部。[1]
