映月社区位于祥符街道三墩路北侧，2006年成立，名称取自境内两个住宅小区“水映苑”与“水月苑”各一字。社区内以经济适用房和廉租房为主。[1]

映月社区原属祥符街道陆家圩社区的辖区。社区于2006年成立，2017年3月，清涟社区撤销，其一部分区域并入本社区。[1]

据博雅地名网，社区内的水碧苑是杭州市最大的廉租房集中小区，社区共有4560户，总人口一万余人，未注统计年份。[1]
