皋亭社区位于上塘街道北部，社区名取自境内的皋亭坝，此坝旧称皋亭闸。[1]社区面积3.25平方公里，2004年10月撤村建居后设立，属农村新型社区。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

社区前身为1986年设立的皋亭居民区，此后于2002年4月改设社区居委会。[1]博雅地名网概况则把社区设立时间写作2004年10月撤村建居之时，与此说并存。[2]

地理环境[edit]

社区东侧临上塘河，南部与善贤坝相接，西面与瓜山社区为邻，北界至半山的金星村。[2]

人口[edit]

据博雅地名网，社区常住居民1251户，共4747人；另有外来流动人口近2.5万人。[2]

经济[edit]

辖区内有天马控股集团有限公司；沈半路、石祥路一带的汽车特色街，以及南方机电市场和杭州夹板市场，共有企事业单位一百余家。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2022年1月，社区入选浙江省2021年度「省级民主法治村（社区）」名单。[1]
