半道红社区位于杭州市拱墅区米市巷街道，东侧濒临运河，北侧以文晖路相接，西侧为莫干山路，南侧靠近环城北路。[1][2]

社区名称取自境内古地名「半道红」。《西湖游览志》卷二十二记，相传旧时路旁夹植桃花，故有此名，俗讹作「半塘红」。[1][6]

历史沿革[edit]

社区由原武林门、忠义坊、半道红3个居民区合并组建。博雅地名网历史沿革一节记为2000年10月组建，概况一节则记为2000年12月组建。[1][2][3][5]

2018年度，社区获评「杭州市国际化社区示范点」。[4]

社区总占地面积约0.96平方千米。[2][3]

社区居民计3316户、7678人；年逾六十的老人为1946人。[1][2]
