社区名称取自古地名「红石板」。据传，武林门外一条老街的路面嵌有一块朱红色石板，表面光亮，几乎无磨损，与周围石板不同，由此得名。[1][4]
历史沿革[edit]
2001年4月，社区以原沈塘桥居民区为基础设立，地名沿用至今。[1][3]
社区先后获得「杭州市文化示范社区」「浙江省城市体育先进社区」「杭州市文明社区」等荣誉。[1][2]
